The "Sentier de la Baïse" is open to the public over a distance of 11 km.

The 1st section is laid out with a limestone coating over 3 km , from the port of Valence sur Baïse to the Abbey of Flaran.

Benches and picnic tables have been installed under a poplar grove to guarantee you, around flowery spaces, privileged moments of relaxation in complete tranquility.

At the end of the route, you will arrive at the Abbey of Flaran, (historical monument) where you will discover its monastic buildings, its gardens which present a perfect illustration of a Cistercian ensemble from the 12th century.

The 2nd section is laid out on natural earth connecting the Flaran Abbey to the double Graziac lock over 4 km and allows you to walk in a green and exotic natural plant setting while following the Baïse river where you will have the chance to see pleasure boats sailing from all over France.

The 3rd section is also built on natural earth connecting the Graziac site to the port of Condom via the Gauge lock (4 km). Decorated with fruit trees, you will follow the Baïse river, formerly called the silver river in the Middle Ages. You will discover the magnificent Gauge lock and its restaurant before arriving at the port of Condom.

The paths of Santiago de Compostela

The Gers is crossed by 2 paths to the pilgrimage site of Santiago de Compostela in Spain . Via Podiensis (from Arles) and Via Tolosana(from Toulouse) pass respectively to the north and south of the territory. The GR65 follows part of the route of these historic routes.

D'Artagnan's European Route
