RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SAFER POOLS UNSUPERVISED SWIMMING

A safety device in no way replaces the vigilance of responsible adults, who must exercise constant and active supervision. They must read and know the safety advice specific to each safety device. These only protect young children in the locked position (for barriers, covers and shelters) or in normal operating condition (for alarms).

You should never let a child access a swimming pool alone, nor leave him there alone or take his eyes off him, even for a few moments: in silence, your child can drown in less than 3 minutes in 20 cm of water.

When swimming, it is strongly advised to equip young children with floating devices (suitable buoy, armbands, etc.).

SECURITY

▪ Appropriately use the safety devices available

▪ Provide in the immediate vicinity a telephone with the list of emergency numbers, a pole and/or a

buoy

▪ Avoid nearby electrical installations

▪ Remain vigilant regarding the fixing of the grids covering the water recycling outlets

▪ Do not leave toys or objects on the surface that may attract children

▪ Wait a reasonable time (about 2 hours) after a meal before swimming

▪ Do not run or heckle at the edge of the pool. Watch out for falls!

▪ Diving is prohibited

▪ Do not let too many people bathe at the same time (risk of collisions, difficult supervision)

HYGIENE

▪ Use the footbath and take a shower with soap before entering the pool: deodorants, sunscreens, perspiration generate "organic combined chlorine", which causes inflammation of the mucous membranes, conjunctivitis, throat irritation

▪ Beware of skin lesions that may be contagious

▪ No animals near or in the pool

▪ No food or drink in the pool

IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT

Get the person out of the water immediately

In the event of loss of consciousness, practice the first aid measures immediately (mouth to mouth, cardiac massage if necessary).

Call the nearest emergency services. In the event of drowning, the speed of rescue is decisive.
